finally some new music

leave a comment »

So I finally had a chance to get to a computer and upload some new itune music for my ipod. I know it’s been 2 months now, but at least I’m getting around to it. It’s really great to have all these new songs as mine were getting a bit old. Thanks everyone for helping 🙂
I even had the chance to test out the new songs as I went for a jog today. It went great, although it was really hot. I’m always saying how I’d go running if it’s warm & not dark so here I am. Glad I have a chance to do this still into November. Craziness, but it’s great.

My 25th Birthday was a lot of fun. It’s been great to have so many changes and yet familiarities too. This is the first birthday I’ve spent in Israel. It’s also been 8 years since I’ve spent my birthday with my mom, and sisters Francesca and Kristina. It was a nice change to be able to celebrate with them after so many years.
This year I went out with my sister to a club dancing as I offically became 25! After a late night I slept in and woke up to birthday wishes. I watched the movie devil wears prada listening to one of my favorites “suddendly I see” by KT Tunstal. I went for hot chocolate with my sister and then o a special birthday lunch at my mom’s house. She made me a nice Sangria and chicken salad. Followed of course by a nice chocolate birthday cake. yum, yum.
Then my sisters and I went to the beach. It was sunny enough to still go and swim and I did just that. Swimming in the middle of November who could believe that! After relaxing in the sun for a bit we all headed over to this nice Italian restaurant. I had my favorite schnizel and mashed potatoes and I even tried some cherry beer.
After dinner I went with my sister to see the new Bond movie. It was a good action movie, yet still lacks some typical bond characteristics. Overall it was still a lot of fun, and something I really wanted to do on my bday.
It was nice getting all the birthday wishes from here and all the people on facebook. 🙂

Into the Wild

with 2 comments

Yesterday I watched the movie Into the Wild, directed by Sean Penn.  It’s based on a true story of  Christopher McCandless who leaves all his possessions including 24k of life savings and hitchhikes  til he arrives in Alaska to live in the wild.
The movie is a bit slow going but it has great scenes of nature and freedom.  It shows man’s need to have an adventure and go back to his core instead of being drawn in by the world around him.  It’s really well done and I really like it because it’s a real story.  You can feel the emotions and adventure in it all.  The man goes overboard in my opinion having only natural things and living and sustaining only but the creation.  It’s an interesting movie though, I hope some of you have seen it.

Netanya

Netanya

So it’s November now and it’s so different being here in Israel rather then Vancouver. For instance today I went for a bike ride (which I haven’t done since I was 16 since they made that helmet rule) down to the beach in Tel Aviv and then to a nice cafe. Yesterday we drove half an hour to Netanya and relaxed on the beach while I was listening to my ipod. It’s not as warm as it was earlier in the summer but 22 isn’t so bad. I really love that song I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, thanks Mia for introducing me.
I’ve found this great yogurt place here too, which is really yogurt and fruit. It’s really chill place to relax and hang out. Then there’s all the cafe’s of course. Too bad there aren’t more in Vancouver but I guess the rain holds them all back. Things are nice and relaxing. Best wishes to you all taking some time off.
